The Gap Dēmĭstəfīed - June 2023 Edition 🚀
The first edition has landed!
Welcome to the launch 🚀 of The Gap Dēmĭstəfīed, a monthly newsletter dedicated to equipping companies, entrepreneurs, and solopreneurs with the solutions to close the strategy-to-execution gap by demystifying the process of transforming ideas into strategy and strategy into action and action into results.
This started as a simple idea in 2020 to share content on LinkedIn and provide mini-masterclasses for FREE to help those laid off during the pandemic use their skills to power their personal economy. After three years of people asking for more content, I’m excited to launch The Gap Dēmĭstəfīed monthly newsletter.
Whether you’re a solopreneur, a startup or mid-sized company, or a Fortune 500 doesn't matter. I’ve worked with and for them all. Yes, non-profits too.
Every month I share the tools, tips, tricks, and resources to separate the guess from work and get 💩 done and drive to results.
And I’m not just sharing theoreticals or hypotheticals. I’m sharing real things I’ve done that have worked (and not worked). But if I haven’t done it myself, I may have a guest or two that has.
I’m also sharing tools to help you level up your work. These solutions aren’t just for solo shops. Many offer enterprise-wide tools to boost productivity, streamline processes, and collaborate across teams.
What is the strategy-to-execution gap?
The strategy-to-execution gap refers to the disconnect between a company's strategic plans and the actual implementation of those plans. A common problem arises when there is a lack of alignment, communication, and coordination between the strategy and execution stages of a project or initiative. This gap can result in failed or incomplete projects, missed opportunities, and lost revenue. And then they’re mystified when the goal is missed.
TL;DR - When individuals, teams, or companies get stuck in the space between the plan and getting things done but don’t know why,
To equip you to close the gap, The Gap Dēmĭstəfīed addresses the lack of:
Alignment —> gain clarity and make sure everyone is on the same page.
Communication —> who, what, when, where, why, how.
Coordination between strategy and execution stages —> make a plan, agree to the plan, work the plan, measure outcomes, and adjust.
Organizational Capacity —> leadership and professional development, skill building, and implementing the right tools.
Tool of the Month: Notion
Notion can help you organize and communicate information for yourself or across teams. No need to bother with a domain or build a website. It can turn a page into a webpage that people outside your organization can access. Plus, it has the power of AI built in to boost productivity.
I use it as a one-stop tool for my personal and business activities. It’s free, with paid options for individuals, teams, or an enterprise. Use it on your desktop or your phone with integrations to popular tools like Trello, Gmail, and more.
